An AI consultant
you can actually sit down with.

I'm A.J. Otranto. I run an AI consulting and enablement practice out of New York. I teach teams to build with AI, I build the tool when off-the-shelf software doesn't fit, and I advise the people making the call. I spent a decade inside enterprise systems and I ship every week, so the advice comes from current work. I'm in the city, so we can do this in a room instead of on a call.

01

Being in the room

Some of this genuinely works better in a room. Some of it doesn't, and I'd rather tell you which than sell you travel that does nothing for you.

Training a team
This is the one that changes most in person. People ask the question they won't type into a chat. I can look at a screen over a shoulder. And the room starts learning from each other instead of only from me.
A leadership session
The hard questions about AI get asked properly when everyone is in a room. On a call half the room is muted and you never hear them.
The first conversation
Coffee works. It's faster to work out across a table whether there's anything here for you than it is over email.
A working session mid-build
When a build hits the part where the requirement isn't what anyone wrote down, a session in person tends to settle it.

And when it does not matter

The build itself doesn't need me in your office, and I won't pad an engagement with travel that does nothing for you. Remote works.

Manhattan and Brooklyn are easy, and anywhere in the five boroughs works.

02

What I can do for you

The same three shapes wherever the work happens. Being in a room changes how they run, not what they are.

AI enablement01

Train your team to build with AI

03

Who this is for

Not a filter. Just the kind of thing I am useful for.

  • 01A team that keeps hearing they should be using AI and hasn't worked out what that means for the actual job.
  • 02A small company where nobody writes code and the tool you need doesn't exist to buy.
  • 03A leader who wants a straight answer on what's worth doing and what's noise.
  • 04A group that tried a pilot, watched it stall, and wants to know what went wrong before spending again.

Questions about working together here

More of them are answered on the home page, or email me at ajotranto@gmail.com and ask.

Are you actually in New York, or is this a remote practice with a New York address?
I live here, and in person is a real option rather than a line on a page.
Where do you meet?
Somewhere that suits you. Manhattan and Brooklyn are easy, and anywhere in the five boroughs works. Your office, a room you book, or coffee near you.
Can the whole thing be remote?
Yes, and for a lot of engagements that's the sensible answer. Builds in particular don't get better because I am in your office. I will tell you where a room helps and where it does not.
Do you work with teams outside New York?
Yes. Being local is a convenience when you want it, not a requirement.
What does it cost?
It depends on the shape of the work and the size of the group, so I quote it after we talk rather than off a rate card. Tell me what you are trying to do and I will give you a number.
